Evaluation, Empirical Studies and Evidence Supporting the CAP Curricula

Since CAP was created in 1978, it has won the appreciation and support of communities throughout and beyond the United States. Most evaluations to date have examined whether child sexual assault prevention programs accomplish what they set out to do.  Although, evaluating “prevention” is never an easy venture, efforts to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a program will lead to keeping programs current and accountable.  NJCAP’s parent organization, the International Center for Assault Prevention (ICAP) has conducted numerous evaluations of the curricula over the last 30 years.  The following lists some of these evaluative studies and evidence supporting the NJ CAP curricula and project.
