About Mercer County CAP:

The Child Assault Prevention (CAP) program is designed to empower children to keep their rights to be “Safe, Strong and Free.” Through role plays and guided group discussions, CAP teaches children how to recognize potentially dangerous situations and how to implement effective safety strategies. The content of the workshops covers bullying (peer assault), assault by a stranger, and sexual assault by a known individual. The program stresses communication, self-assertion, peer support, and reporting skills as practical prevention techniques.

“Children respond to the program in positive way. They enjoy the role plays and are empowered to keep their right to be Safe, Strong and Free.”- School Principal

“The presenters were informative and passionate about the topics they were presenting. Our children can benefit from the program.”- Parent
